Jaime's Bio
10KFS is intriguing because there are multiple variables at the physiological, genetic, behavioral, social, and environmental levels and their interactions among families that influence health, and 10KFS takes a broad look at these factors. This cohort is in Minnesota and its neighboring states, so the data from 10KFS is impactful for my family and friends.
I was born in California and moved to Minnesota when I was in elementary school. I live in the northwest metro with my husband and daughter, two cats (Sophie and Mr. Bones), and two bearded dragons (Ersa and JJ).
I am the Laboratory Study Coordinator for 10KFS and have over two decades of direct patient care and public health experience. As the Laboratory Study Coordinator, I coordinate all laboratory-related activities throughout all study phases, oversee laboratory workflow, monitor supplies, specimen collection and receiving, then ensure accurate testing, quality assurance, and data management.
Fun Fact: I love baking, but I do not eat a lot of sweets! I have held a Minnesota Cottage Food Producer Registration starting in 2015; the “pickle bill’ was passed.
