Omotola's BIO

Young african woman wearing a festive yellow dress smailing to the camara

I joined 10KFS because I love learning and wanted to be part of a team that discovers new things and make the world better. 10KFS gives me the chance to meet and recruit participants from all works of life, helping them to understand their genetics and knowing what environment factors factors that they are been exposed to, thereby driving positive change in environmental health.

I am from south western part of Nigeria. I schooled in Ukraine, worked in Nigeria before moving to Minnesota in 2022. My education background is in Medicine but my interest is in preventive medicine which is why I am doing my MPH in Epidemiology at the moment. I work as Participant and Study Support  and Health Visit Assistant for 10KFS. My job is to communicate with 10KFS study participants via email and phone calls by responding to questions, concerns and reaching out to them regarding participation matters. I also take measurements and collect samples from participants during health visits. Working in 10KFS makes me understand what goes on in the background of a research study which is very fascinating to me.

A fun fact about me is that I love to travel and I have a list of places I planned to visit around the world.
