Rui's BIO

A young Chinese male and female. Female holding a calico race cat

Working with 10KFS allows me to blend my passion for technology with a meaningful purpose. Contributing to a study that explores the intricate connections between environment, lifestyle, and health is both challenging and fulfilling. I'm excited to play a role in shaping the future of public health through IT solutions.

Minnesota, my latest home, has woven seamlessly into my story. Originally from China, my academic journey led me to Indiana University Bloomington for my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and later to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for my master's. Following my wife's academic pursuits, we ventured to Minnesota in 2022, where she embarked on her Ph.D. in Biostatistics at the School of Public Health. Minnesota, though new, feels familiar after my years in the Midwest. While the landscape may differ, the warmth of the people remains constant.

As an IT professional at Coordinating Centers for Biometric Research (CCBR), my role in 10KFS involves developing programs that support various study processes behind the scenes. These programs streamline tasks for administration, data management, and analysis teams, and ensure the smooth operation of the study.

A fun fact about me: Beyond my professional commitments, photography adds color to my life. Capturing the stunning landscapes of Yellowstone National Park was one of my most cherished experiences.
